Many myths surround Hermes, the author of the 7 Hermetic Principles. However, the origin of the tablet, and the information it contained stretched back all the way to Ancient Egypt, when an author under the name of Hermes Trismegistus, also known as “The Scribe of the gods,” penned universal principles that some claim hold the secrets of the universe. In the twelfth century, The Emerald Tablet of Hermes started showing up in Alchemical libraries throughout Europe.
